My Journey

You can have all the knowledge in the world, but to lack love your knowledge has little value to others.

My Single Missionary Days 2012-2014

I am Melissa Santafe, missionary to Colombia and former elementary teacher. My husband is a pastor and church planter from Colombia, so you can imagine where the importance of bilingualism has come into play! I have been a teacher for nine years in both Christian and public school, teaching various grades from Kinder – 4th grade. Kinder being my ALL TIME FAVORITE! I taught in the dual-language program in Texas due to my love for the Spanish language, culture, and people. This is my second year out of the elementary classroom raising our two little ones Emma Rose my 26 month old and Megan Sofia my little 8 month old. I never imagined myself blogging, but now that I am incorporating my love for teaching and my love for Spanish in the context of my own home with my girls I thought this might be a perfect outlet for me to share and maybe help others in the process.

Why do this?

  • I want to share my own resources and experiences as I learn to teach and guide my little ones on the pathway of bilingualism.
  • I want to share other resources I find from other bloggers who are WAY MORE experienced then me, that myself and others might benefit from.
  • This will also help me have an organized way of recalling all we do and capturing this beautiful process of lifelong learning.

I hope that you enjoy this blog and that you can gain something from it! Thanks for taking the time to visit!!
